beautifully DAMNED is the latest of my projects highlighting unspoken voices and stories. It’s an event series that brings together poets, spoken word artists, and storytellers who wish to talk about personal struggle, pain, and loss – the kind that are often considered taboo or less acceptable to discuss.

The first iteration took place in my little college town in Berea, Kentucky, and the theme was Diaries. A handful of artists and audience members got together to express and discuss mental illness, grief, trauma, and abuse. We spent the last half an hour discussing the difficulties of creating art around trauma and struggle.
